Join Our Media Initiative Team
Our Media Initiative Team volunteers are individuals from all walks of life and all religious backgrounds who share the following traits: They are shocked, if not outraged at times, by the uneven treatment that the media all-too often apply to Israel vs. the Palestinians in their frequent reports on the Middle East conflict. They are tired of observing that so little is done to counter the relentless publication of partial and misleading editorials with no room granted to opposing views While not intending to replace the remarkable work acomplished by CAMERA, they are willing to borrow a page or two from its modus operandi in order to monitor the local media, be it in print, TV or radio. They are willing to develop plans for proactive action, rather than limiting themselves to strictly reactive action whenever yet another outrageously biased article is published or TV report is aired. They have a good knowledge and hold a balanced view of the history and current issues facing both Israelis and Palestinians. They have compassion for all innocent people affected by the violence and by terrorism. They stay informed of ongoing developments in the region and remain knowledgeable about the issues, and are thus able to thoroughly refute outlandish accusations or add crucial information where intentional omissions go unchallenged. They are willing to meet on a regular basis to strategize the best course of action, and allocate the time needed to write letters, meet with editors or station managers, or participate in debates or interviews.
